Mounting & balancing
New tires fitted and balanced here, valve stems included. Bring your own set if you already have them and we will fit those instead.
Seasonal changeovers
Winters on in the fall, all seasons back on in the spring. Book ahead of the first snowfall; that week is the busiest of the year for every shop in the city.
Puncture repairs
Repaired where the injury is in the tread and the tire is safe to repair. If it is in the sidewall we will tell you straight that it needs replacing.
Alignment after fitting
A new set on a vehicle that is out of alignment scrubs itself out on one edge. We put it on the alignment machine so the tires last the way they should.
Which tire, and when
Winter tires
Below about seven degrees the rubber in an all season hardens and stops gripping, which in Edmonton is roughly half the year. Winter tires are the single biggest difference you can make to how the vehicle stops on a cold morning.
All season tires
Fine for spring through fall, and the usual choice if the vehicle is parked through the worst of the winter or only sees clear main roads.
All weather tires
Rated for severe snow with the three peak mountain snowflake, so they stay capable through the winter without a seasonal changeover. The trade is that they will not match a true winter tire on ice, and they wear faster than an all season through the summer.
