Common questions
Appointments, warranty, prices, tires, inspections and insurance work. If your question is not here, call the shop and ask — we would rather answer it now than have you guess.
Do I need an appointment?+
Walk ins are welcome. Booking a time saves you waiting, especially for alignments, inspections and body work.
Do you warranty your work?+
Most of our services carry a one year warranty on both parts and labour. A labour warranty is rare in this trade. Ask us to confirm the coverage on your particular repair when you get the estimate, and keep your invoice.
How much is an oil change?+
A Mobil 1 full synthetic oil change with a new filter starts at $80. The final price depends on how much oil your engine takes and which filter it uses, and we tell you before we start.
Do you sell tires?+
Yes. We sell all season, winter and all weather tires for cars, SUVs and light trucks, in most major brands, and we mount, balance and align them here. If you already have a set, we will fit those.
What is the difference between all weather and all season tires?+
An all season tire is a spring-to-fall tire; its rubber hardens below about seven degrees and it is not rated for severe snow. An all weather tire carries the three peak mountain snowflake, the same severe snow rating a winter tire has, so it is legal and capable through an Edmonton winter and you never change over. The trade is that it will not match a dedicated winter tire on ice or in deep cold, and it wears faster than an all season through the summer. If you drive through the winter and want one set, all weather. If you want the best stopping distance on a cold morning, winters on rims and all seasons for the summer.
Do you have a courtesy vehicle?+
Yes. Our courtesy vehicle drives you home after you drop your vehicle off, and brings you back when it is ready. Just ask for it when you book.
Can you check a used vehicle before I buy it?+
Yes. A pre-purchase inspection puts the vehicle on the hoist and goes through the brakes, suspension, steering, tires, fluids and leaks, looks for signs of collision repair and rust, and reads it for stored fault codes. You get a list of what is wrong, what it costs to put right, and whether we would buy it.
What is a Mechanical Fitness Assessment?+
An MFA is the report Alberta requires before a used vehicle is sold by a dealer. We inspect the vehicle, list what we find, and fill out the form.
Do you do Vehicle For Hire inspections?+
Yes. We do VFH inspections for taxi, Uber and other rideshare drivers so you can keep your licence current.
Can I choose my own shop for an insurance repair?+
Yes. In Alberta you pick the shop. Give your insurance company our name and address, and we handle the estimate and speak with the adjuster.
How much will my repair cost?+
We look at the vehicle first, then give you an estimate. Nothing is repaired until you say yes to the price, and we call you if anything changes.
Do you work on all makes and models?+
Yes, cars, SUVs and light trucks, for both mechanical and body work. If a job needs a dealer only part, we tell you up front.
How do I pay?+
Cash, debit and credit card. On an insurance repair you normally pay only your deductible and the insurer pays us the rest.
Where are you located and is there parking?+
We are at 12213 67 St NW in Edmonton, just south of Yellowhead Trail, close to Beverly, Newton, Highlands, Balwin and Belvedere. Parking is on site.
Still wondering?
Call and describe it. If we can answer it on the phone we will, and if the vehicle needs to come in we will tell you how long it will take.
